New York Trip part 3

We drove to my sisters in Connecticut and spent the night with her and her family! We went swimming in their neighbours pool and had a blast with them. The next day we caravanned to Palmyra to camp and to see the pageant and the other church history sites there. We got rained on almost the whole time we were camping which wasn’t the funnest! My mom bought us an awesome tent last year and we had a little leaking but it could have been worse given the storms that were whipping through. It was still humid and hot so along with all our stuff we were really damp.

Eating breakfast with my neice after a rain dump. Everything was soaking wet! Max helping pack up all the stuff, he's such a big helper!
After we left my sister and her family we started the 8 hour drive home. We took two days to do it so we could stop and see some other attractions. We went to Kirtland and saw the church history sites there. It was really neat to be where Joseph Smith was and feel the spirit that was present in the Newal K. Whitney store. I didn't know that most of the revelations came from here. I loved the tour and the spirit that strenghthened my testimony of the gospel.

We also visited the Kirtland Temple. I have to say that it was a very neat experience, not so much a spiritual experience. The community of Christ owns the Temple and the tours are much more history information instead of spiritual info. The was not any mention of anything spiritual that happened in the Temple except for the fact that our tour guide told us that "it had been said that Christ appeared to Joseph Smith on the mantel of the seats and also Moses, Elija and Elias." Nothing else was said about it, no testimony nothing and nothing was said about the attic. Our tour guide didn't know really the information about the Temple so he couldn't really answer any questions. He yelled in the Temple so everyone could hear and there was no respect given to those who build it or was it was build for. They allow other religions to use it for parties or their worship services. It's just sad to see such a beautiful building that has been dedicated to the Lord not used for it's intended purposes. It was a much different feeling than the tour given by our church! It was still really neat though to learn about it! I'm glad we went.
We also stopped at Niagara Falls. It was amazing and beautiul! We went on a tour of the wind of the caves ( I think that's what it's called) Paige really liked it until we got to the deck that is called Hurricane Valley, then she got really scared. Max slept through the whole thing, and he got soaking wet along with the rest of us!
It was amazing to see such beauty. It makes me so thankful or a loving Father in Heaven who loves us so much to bless our lives and our world with such majestic beauty. We walked on all these bridges right next to the falls and it was magnificent. Falls from the American side. They say they are more beautiful from the Canadian side, I can't imagine it because they were amazing from our point of view. I wish that we had had more time to see everything!
